Leasingham Classic Clare 1998
Wine SpectatorElegant in structure and generous in flavor, this red folds out its juicy berry and currant fruit with shades of dried herbs and cedar. The flavors echo beautifully on the long finish. Best from 2004 through 2010. 4,500 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastSome reviewers thought this wine's medium-full mouthfeel "tangy;" others called it "brisk acidity." In any case, the wine's aromas and flavors are dark, dark, dark: Look forward to leather, earth and an almost matchstick note on the nose, and black fruit, bitter chocolate and "old baseball glove" in the mouth. Finishes with tobacco, leather and juicy berry fruit.
