Two Hands Max's Garden Shiraz 2005
Wine SpectatorBeautifully balanced and harmonious, this is a distinctive wine that offers pure flavors of mineral-accented plum and blackberry. Hints at violet and earth as the finish sails on and on. The tannins are present, but smoothly integrated. Drink now through 2015.
Wine AdvocateThe 2005 Shiraz "Max's Garden" was sourced from Heathcote. It was aged in French and American oak with 15% new French. It delivers a complex aromatic array of cedar, smoked meat, violets, pencil lead, blueberry, and blackberry. This leads to a medium-bodied Shiraz which is just a bit lean on the palate. Aside from that, it has solid flavors and a moderately long finish. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.
