For those who can remember the '95 vintage, this vintage is closest to that. This current wine is the most precocious yet. Bacio is very fruit forward, explodes on the palate with congenial berry fruit, yet slides away with a balance that rewards with long and lasting sweetness. Bacio is aromatic with ripe fruit, and is delightfully sweet and balanced.

Wine SpectatorA remarkably complex and successful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Petite Sirah. Offers a wonderful range of flavors, from the core of currant and blackberry to hints of cedar, sage, anise and nutmeg. Tightly wound and firmly tannic, with a long, intricate finish. Needs short-term cellaring. Best from 2006 through 2012.

Wine AdvocateThe deep ruby-hued 2002 Proprietary Red, a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Sangiovese, and 15% Petite Sirah, reveals a sweet perfume of white chocolate, kirsch, licorice, earth, and dried herbs. There is an elegant attack as well as medium-bodied, concentrated flavors, but an angular, austere, tannic finish kept my score from going even higher. I suspect this offering will taste better if drunk with food. Consume it over the next 7-8 years.
