Barnett Vineyards Rattlesnake Hill Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 1999
Rattlesnake Hill is a small rocky knoll on the estate, located at 2050 ft elevation on Spring Mountain. The fruit from this knoll is incredibly intense due to the stress put upon the vines by the rock nature of the soil on the hilltop. Each year the Rattlesnake Hill Cabernet is a blend of all of the fruit from this hilltop as well as the best barrels we produce from other parts of the Estate Vineyards. Rattlesnake Hill is not produced in every vintage. If we feel the wine, for any reason, is not up to our standards for this special bottling we do not produce it. Typically the Rattlesnake Hill wines are very powerful, structured and multi-layered wines with silky tannins.
