Cosentino Legends Meritage 2003
When Cosentino's clarets hit the mark, they're darn near as good as anything in the valley. This blend of Cabs Sauvignon and Franc and Merlot is wickedly good. There's a ton of oak, but it's just the perfect touch. Tastewise, it's black currants, crème de cassis and sweet Asian spices. So soft and forward; drink now.
Tannic and stalky, with dried currant, herb, sage and leathery notes. Turns dry and tannic on the finish. Best of three bottles. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2007. 500 cases made.
