Etude Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1998
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
Wine AdvocateThe 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is an impressive effort. An opaque ruby/purple color is followed by a soft, precocious, evolved, up-front style with gorgeous black fruits, medium to full body, soft tannin, and good fatness allied to elegance and suppleness. While it does not possess much volume or density, it is a delicious wine to drink over the next decade.
Wine SpectatorFresh, complex and full-bodied, with mature layers that offer a mix of dried currant, molasses and black licorice flavors, fresh earth potting soil scents and minerally notes. The tannins are ripe and give this structure. Tasted from magnum.--1998 California Cabernet retrospective. Drink now through 2011. 2,000 cases made.
