Kenwood Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon 1989
Wine SpectatorFirm, chunky and intense, with a meaty core of currant, mineral, cedar, earth and sage flavors, finishing with a still-immense core of tannins and good length, missing just finesse.--1989 California Cabernet retrospective. Drink now through 2007. 2,700 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastThough it's no blockbuster, this vintage still offers a charming bouquet of tea, smoke, menthol and cocoa. It's light compared to most years, with black-cherry, soy and tobacco flavors. Closes soft yet bright, with mild tannins and acidity. Surprisingly decent for a wine of its age and the so-so vintage. Drink now.
