Viader Vineyards V 2001
|Region||California, Napa Valley, Howell Mountain|
In 2001, the "V" blend revolved around 58% Petit Verdot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc. The Petit Verdot adds color, tannin and piquant spice to the blend while Cabernet Sauvignon maintains the balance, providing a strong backbone upon which to display the exoticism of Viader Petit Verdot. The Cabernet Franc adds density to the finish and inspires intense flavors in the wine. In combination, these three varietals produce a dense, sumptuous wine with intense complexity.
A touch of balsamic detracts slightly from a dense, chewy, concentrated wine, with ripe plum, blackberry and wild berry, finishing with a ripe, plush aftertaste. Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2004 through 2012
