Cabreo Il Borgo 2003
Wine SpectatorIntense aromas of blackberry, toasty oak and chocolate. Full-bodied, with big, juicy fruit and lots of spicy, peppery and fruity character. Long and luscious. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best after 2008. 3,300 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2003 Il Borgo (70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon) presents notes of earthiness, super-ripe black cherries and toasted oak in a lush, opulent style with excellent length. This well-made, tasty wine will require a few years in bottle to integrate its oak after which it should drink well to age 15 or so.
