Cabreo Il Borgo 2003
Intense aromas of blackberry, toasty oak and chocolate. Full-bodied, with big, juicy fruit and lots of spicy, peppery and fruity character. Long and luscious. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best after 2008. 3,300 cases made.
The 2003 Il Borgo (70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon) presents notes of earthiness, super-ripe black cherries and toasted oak in a lush, opulent style with excellent length. This well-made, tasty wine will require a few years in bottle to integrate its oak after which it should drink well to age 15 or so.
