Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Brunello di Montalcino Castelgiocondo 1998
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino|
|Brand||Marchesi de' Frescobaldi|
Color: Intense Ruby red with speckles of granata. Aroma: a matured fruit such as the prune or ciliagia followed by delicate scents of canella and chiodi di garofano. Taste: On the palate an elegant expression of potent power. Serving Suggestions: Beef stews, braised meats with potatoes, cheeses that are aged but not too pungent, and large game, such as boar.
Really well-made, with Indian spice, incense, berry and raspberry character. Full-bodied, with fine, silky tannins and a finish that goes on for a very long time indeed. Frescobaldi knows how to make Brunello. Best after 2003. 16,000 cases made.
