Wine SpectatorA very silky wine with berry, cedar and tobacco character. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. Lovely. Seductive and racy. Very long indeed. Strength yet finesse. Best after 2007. 970 cases made.

Wine AdvocateThe 2001 Sori San Lorenzo is the deepest and darkest of the single-vineyard wines from Barbaresco. It boasts a penetrating nose of tar and minerals along with very rich sweet dark fruit on a massive, structured frame of great thrust and length. It is a wine that will clearly require patience and reward cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2025.

Wine EnthusiastPerhaps less nuanced than the Sorì Tildìn, but more powerful, with round, mouthfilling flavors and firm tannins. Hints of tobacco and vanilla add complexity to rich plum and black cherry notes, finshing with a lovely touch of anise. Drink 2015-2030 and beyond.
