Calera Reed Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010
|Region||California, Central Coast, Mt. Harlan|
Wine AdvocateThe 2010 Pinot Noir Reed Vineyard, which was harvested from November 6th through November 11th, offers up loads of underbrush and sweet spice to go with medium-bodied, elegant and textured palate that shares the same integration and balance of all of this estate's wines. A beautiful bottle of wine, with a weightless feel and building tannin, it should be enjoyed over the coming decade. Drink now-2023.
Wine EnthusiastAs usual, this is one of Calera's lightest bottlings, in both color and texture. It's deceptively simple, showing softened cola and raspberry jam flavors that finish impressively long and spicy. It would be a mistake to dismiss it for early drinking. Give it a good six years in the cellar, and it could be stunning in 2020.
Wine SpectatorTrim and spicy, with tart, medium-weight cranberry and sour cherry notes. This delicate, light style offers fine-grained tannins, showing a limestone minerality on the finish. Drink now through 2020. 398 cases made.
