Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf du Pape 2001

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

Deep ruby colour with purple tinges. Nose very intense and complex, with jammy black berry fruit, pepper sweet spices. The mouth is round and voluptuous, with great tannic structure and very elegant texture. Finish is long and silky.

International Wine CellarBright ruby-red. Liqueur-like raspberry, licorice and a medicinal quality on the nose. Then quite backward in the mouth, with very primary dark berry and black cherry flavors hinting at great ripeness. Quite primary today and less animal than usual for a young Beaucastel. Elegant, slow-building finish features fine-grained tannins and excellent grip.

Wine SpectatorRipe and fleshy, with lots of black cherry, plum, anise and tar flavors riding along a succulent palate. Sweet and velvety on the finish; this is drinkable now but will age easily. Drink now through 2011.
