Opulence and richness are the hallmarks of 2015 vintage, and the Blueline Cabernet Sauvignon demonstrates this in spades. The aromatics are a mingling of dense fruit scents, with cassis and blackberry bramble, a hint of barrel toast and crushed graphite that echo on the palate. The mouthfeel is lushly textured, with a bright nervy minerality in the back mid-palate, a characteristic that defines our Blueline Estate wines. The tannins are sleek with a wide palate impression, and the wine has a long, arching finish.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline Estate comes from the estate's vineyard and is another beautiful wine. Blackcurrants, earth, tobacco, and some herbal notes all give way to a medium to full-bodied 2016 that delivers plenty of intensity and flavor while staying seamless, elegant, and balanced. You can safely drink this any time over the coming 15-20 years.

Containing splashes of Petit Verdot and Malbec, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline Estate displays a medium to deep garnet-purple color and nose of red and black currants, black plums and tapenade with touches of cigar box and dried Mediterranean herbs. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with exotic spices and earthy layers, framed by firm, grainy tannins and finishing with great length.

Notable for the richness, depth, density and mocha-scented oak notes, with the oak giving the texture a smooth landing strip. The flavors are fresh and lively. Best from 2020 through 2032. 900 cases made.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline is dark, sumptuous and inviting, but like all of these wines, the 2015 is not fully put together. Still there is plenty of depth and texture to the fruit. This is a promising wine, but it needs time.
