Benton-Lane Pinot Noir 2014
|Region||United States, Oregon, Willamette Valley|
The aromatics are smoky cedar floral notes. There are rich black cherry flavors, candied fruit sweetness, a slight hint of black licorice, rose petals and amazing balance.
This smooth and toasty effort offers aromatic hints of cracker, coconut and raw cashews. The rhubarb and strawberry fruit flavors are in the background, streaked with cola and root beer. A touch of chocolate carries through the finish.
Pale ruby in color with a hint of purple, the 2014 Pinot Noir Estate has a nose of red currants, red cherries and underbrush, plus a waft of dusty earth. The medium-bodied palate is soft, juicy and uncomplicated with plenty of red berry flavors and nice balance.
Ripe, expressive and supple, with fine tannins around a generous core of cherry and baked apple notes that inform the deft finish. Drink now through 2019. 20,351 cases made.
