Blended with 20% Merlot, this is a finely made wine that pleases in its granular texture and bright acidity. Sinewy in feel, it has fleshy aspects of red cherry and cassis that are complemented by a cradling of vanilla oak.

Supple on the charming entry, offering pure currant, loamy earth, anise and cedar flavors, with tannins gaining presence toward the finish. Comes up just shy of the goal line. Drink now through 2030. 30,000 cases made.

As for the reds, the deep ruby/purple-colored 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon offers notes of tobacco leaf, lead pencil, damp earth and assorted currant like darker fruits. It's reminiscent of a lovely St. Julien, has medium to full-bodied richness, ripe tannin and loads of charm. It's going to keep for a decade or more. Maturity 2018-2028.
