This 2015 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a wine rife with spiced plum and dark chocolate with cherry notes and a hint of oak. Its delicate and round structure leads to a rich lushness upon the finish.

"In 2015 we really tried to focus on earlier picking instead of acidulation," says Lynn Penner-Ash. "2015 has a life to it, a brightness." Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley has a gorgeous nose of violet and rose petal over a core of warm red and black cherries, baked cranberries, pink peppercorn, bergamot and an exotic hint of saltiness. Light to medium-bodied, it has wonderful layers of red and black fruits in the mouth with a strong line of spice-cardamom, nutmeg, hints of pepper-plus notes of autumn leaves and dusty earth. It's got supple, grainy tannins and wonderful juicy acidity carrying the layered finish. 9,100 cases produced.

Dark red. Spice-tinged blackberry and cherry aromas are complicated by sassafras, cola and allspice nuances. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering juicy red and dark berry and spicecake flavors along with suggestions of mocha and candied flowers. Finishes with strong, spicy punch, gentle tannins and strong, dark-berry-driven tenacity.

Production of this cuvée has increased dramatically under the winery's new ownership, making it widely available. It's smooth and balanced, with mixed red fruit flavors cut with an herbal edge. The finish is tart and tight, calling for a hearty decant before serving.
