Bevan Rita's Crown Pinot Noir 2013
This year's new Pinot Noir is from the Santa Rita Hills near Santa Barbara. The vineyard, on a slope that is over 30 percent grade, is comprised of diatomaceous soils similar to moon dust. From bud break to harvest was an amazing 132 days. Such lengthy hang time yielded a powerful, silky, seductive wine. Black cherry and pomegranate flavors dominate. A massive wall of wine attacks your palate, yet remains supple and seductive. Are you convinced yet?
