Guido Porro Barolo Vigna Lazzairasco 2015
|Region||Italy, Piedmont, Barolo|
Ruby red with orange reflections in appearance. Intense spicy notes, hints of dried red fruits with clear notes of vanilla and licorice. Intense, austere and elegant, balanced sourness, balsamic and round notes from the wood, very persistent and harmonic. Thanks to its structure and body it goes very well with meat and game dishes and ripe cheeses, with typical Piedmontese specialties as well as with many international dishes.
The 2015 Barolo Vigna Lazzairasco comes across as dried out and lacking in depth. The aromatics are pretty, but the wine is ultimately light in both fruit and supporting structure. There is just not much to the 2015.
