This estate has produced a brilliant 2017 Côtes du Rhône Villages Les Cassagnes de La Nerthe that's based on 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and the rest Mourvèdre. Black raspberries, toasted spices, graphite, and hints of pepper all flow to a medium-bodied, concentrated, seamlessly put together Côtes du Rhône that has present tannin and a great finish. It's well worth seeking out.

This elegant, easy-drinking blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre offers succulent blackberry flavor offset by a cool granitic tone. Supple on the palate and framed by fine, soft tannins, it's immediately approachable but should hold well through 2024.
