Candied black cherries are accented by hints of tar and anise in this smoky, black-fruited Pinot Noir. It's ripe but elegantly muted by shades of earth and rose-petal perfume. Moderately full in body and zesty on the midpalate, it should drink at peak now through 2028 and hold further still.

The 2018 Chorey-lès-Beaune Village is an assemblage of three cuvées from three sides of the village. Matured in 25% new oak, it offers sumptuous raspberry and wild strawberry scents on the well-defined nose. The palate is quite pointed on the entry with a citric line of acidity, plenty of tart red fruit that you would associate with a cooler summer and a fresh, oyster-shell-tinged finish. Delicious.
