Brilliant ruby. Red fruit preserves, musky herbs and flowers and a hint of vanilla on the nose. Spice-tinged cherry cola and raspberry flavors show very good depth and pick up a hint of earthiness on the back half. Finishes long and smooth, with repeating florality and a sweetening touch of vanilla. 25% new French oak.

A lovely plummy purple color, this turns tannic and slightly leathery in the mouth. The cranberry fruit seems a bit dried out, and granular flavors of coffee grounds and charred wood carry the tannins into and through the finish. It lacks freshness for such a young and vibrant vintage.
