Comprised of 100% Merlot, the 2000 vintage is an intense, concentrated, artfully-balanced elixir. The color is a dark lush purple with aromas of smoky spice and dark fruit. The palate is round and mouth filling, encompassing flavors of rich, ripe black cherry fruit and complemented by subtle hints of the wines terroir. The tannins are fine and delineated, with the finish long and lingering.

The 2000 Merlot is an elegant, French-styled red with notes of black cherries, a hint of cocoa, and a medium-bodied, pleasant finish. The problem is the price. This wine is excellent for the vintage, but it is blown away by its 2001 and 2002 counterparts.
