Vibrant layers of exotic fruit, smoke, spices, honey and licorice flesh out in the 2010 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche. Simply put, the 2010 is rich, dense and strikingly beautiful from the very first taste. There is a deep sensuality and allure about the 2010 that are simply compelling. This is another fabulous showing from Drouhin. Anticipated maturity: 2015+.

This is even more primary than the Corton-Charlemagne as here there are vestiges of fermentation aromas that presently still dominate the nose. Otherwise, there is serious size and weight to the big-bodied yet seductively textured, even silky flavors that possess an abundance of mouth coating dry extract. There is a fine minerality to the energetic and quite firmly structured finish that displays genuinely striking persistence. This will require ample cellar time to reach its full apogee. Score range: 93-96. Drink: 2022+. Comments: Don't miss!

The vineyards of the Marquis de Laguiche date back to before the French Revolution, and Drouhin is fully responsible for producing the wines since the 1940s. This ripe, opulent selection lives up to its illustrious pedigree. It is full bodied, and it offers vibrant acidity and minerality. It's a wine for aging over eight years and many more.
