Mr. Riggs Shiraz 2004 1.5L
Components of the Mr. Riggs Shiraz from all three vineyards were fermented in traditional open fermenters, and following pressing, finished their fermentation in oak of which approximately 80% was French and the balance American, 40% of which was new oak. Vineyard parcels were kept separate during fermentation and maturation and were blended three months prior to bottling. This is the fifth release of Shiraz under the Mr. Riggs label, and as with it's predecessors' the wine is based around a core of pristine fruit with dark red berries, hints of spice, earth, tar and leather and with seamlessly integrated oak. Ripe tannins are apparent but not overwhelming, meaning this is a wine which can be enjoyed now or in the next 10-15 years.

Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 5L
The intense deep crimson color in the glass pulls you in, while the huge powerful nose captivates; layer on layer of spice, cedar, earth, and tobacco - all over a rich base of ripe black cherry, blackcurrants, cassis, and blueberry jam. The hook is set with the first whiff. Rich, round, juicy and mouth-coating, the palate delivers black cherry and black currant before moving on to brighter red fruits. More subtle tones of butterscotch, anise, and sweet oak complement the fruit beautifully. The huge classic structure of fine grain tannin and firm acidity persist all the way through to the clean crisp spicy finish.

Girard Artistry 2012 1.5L
The 2012 Artistry showcases essence of vanilla bean, perfumed herbs, raspberry and blackberry traits with a touch of toasted nuts. On the palate the black fruit comes forward with layered black currant and blackberry. French oak lends mocha and vanilla accented spice and roasted sweetness. The tannins are very well developed and should integrate as the wine decants or is allowed to cellar time.

Merryvale Profile 1997
Profile is a blend of our best lots of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, chosen for their concentration, depth of flavor and fine tannin structure. This wine was aged in new French oak chateau barrels and bottled unfiltered. It is very dark and opulently structured -- characteristic of this very ripe vintage. In its youth the wine is loaded with flavors reminiscent of dark berries, plums and black cherries, with fragrant notes of vanilla and spice. The wine's mouthfeel is rich, round and seamless.

Chateau Lynch-Bages Pauillac 2009
Very powerful and well-balanced. The colour is deep and the nose reflects the sunny growing season with remarkable ripeness and overtones of blackcurrant and black fruit. The wine starts out unctuous and straightforward on the palate with impressively concentrated, elegant tannin accompanied by plenty of body. 2009 Lynch-Bages has a rich and opulent flavour enhanced by fresh acidity that contributes to perfect balance and an incredibly long aftertaste.

Château-Haut-Brion Pessac Léognan 2010
This wine is a superb ruby-red color with purplish highlights. The initially closed-in bouquet opens up nicely on aeration. The wonderfully subtle aromas follow through in quick succession, starting with oaky overtones, followed by red-berry fruit, leading into terroir character: cocoa powder, roasting coffee, and Havana cigars. The initial softness on the palate gradually evolves to reveal the tannic backbone. Despite their dense structure, the tannins are amazingly silky. The overall freshness carries the flavors through into an aftertaste that goes on and on. This wine has all the depth and smoothness of the 1989, the density of the 2000, the freshness of the 2005 and the richness of the 2009. the 2010 Chateau Haut Brion is so ideally well-balanced, it verges on perfection.

Penfolds Grange 2008
COLOR: Impenetrable dark core. NOSE: Somewhat intimidating? Yes. Brazen? Never. An immediate and powerful lift of cola/soy/hoisin/red licorice, propelled by tea-smoke and ferric influences. Less obvious nut-husk/tan-bark notes align with lush aromas of ripe (jamon-wrapped) figs and a panaforte plushness. With air, blueberry fruits and mocha arise, the oak (100% new!) remaining concealed-too much aromatic background chatter to register! PALATE: A muscular push/wave/affront across the entire palate-from start to finish. Never oppressive nor ungainly, yet captivatingly forceful. i.e. a vinous lava flow of dark licorice and malt-'molten', with a self-saucing chocolate pudding richness and blackberry, elderberry fruits. Pronounced tannins are unleashed, and the Clare component makes its (9%) presence felt, adding to both flavour pool and extract. Power and density naturally respectful of balance and structure. Penfolds Grange displays fully ripe, intensely flavoured and textured Shiraz grapes. The result is a unique Australian style that is now recognised as one of the most consistent of the world's great wines. The Grange style is the original and most powerful expression of Penfolds multi-vineyard, multi-district blending philosophy.

Bond Quella 2007
Quella displays an almost ethereal quality of blue fruits, graphite, and a vibrant, subtle finish. Making its debut with the 2006 vintage, the name is derived from the German word for a pristine source or an artesian aquifer. This property is steeply sloped facing southwest. The site is an ancient riverbed composed of cobble and rocks interwoven with pockets of tufa (volcanic ash) that were uplifted during the last volcanic activity in the area.
