A pale and sparkling yellow robe, suggestive of vivacity. The Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut is delicate, elegant and balanced. The striking freshness and vivacity of the floral and fruity fragrances (yellow fruits and fresh fruits) take root, before giving way to subtle notes of vanilla and butter, lending the wine a fruity and consistent character. The notes of cherry plum, lemon and bergamot orange emerge first, then make way for the flowers of fruit trees, such as lime and honeysuckle. These are followed by notes of butter, madeleine cakes and vanilla sugar. Lingering notes of grapefruit, white peaches, green pears, apple trees and green hazelnuts round off the taste. Ampleness and vivacity balance out in the mouth, developing into a flavour of round and vinous elegance. A fresh, balanced champagne with a long finish. Its flavours are best revealed between 7 and 9°. Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut can be matched with dishes such as carpaccio of fish or white meats. Its lively vivacity works well with crisp vegetables and tofu.

With crisp acidity and layers of apple and citrus fruits, this attractive wine still has some of the higher dosage typical of this house. Together the fruits and the soft texture have produced a wine that is ready to drink.

A fresh and elegant Champagne, with the delicate mousse imparting a soft creaminess to the finely knit flavors of poached apricot, toast, lemon preserves and spun honey. Smoke-tinged finish. Drink now through 2021.

(made from roughly 40% Pinot Meunier, 35% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay; 10 g/l dosage; Lot 029140020): Light yellow-gold. Zesty citrus and orchard fruits on the mineral-accented nose, with a hint of white flowers coming up with aeration. Lively and focused on the palate, offering slightly tart lemon and green apple flavors and a hint of candied ginger. Closes taut and spicy, with good cut and length.

Charming and extroverted, the latest release of the NV Grand Brut bursts with expressive aromas of warm biscuits, honeyed citrus and orchard fruit, followed by a medium to full-bodied, open-knit palate with ripe acids, a frothy mousse and a fleshy core of fruit, concluding with a clean, uncomplicated finish. More biscuity complexity will emerge with bottle age.
