This dark ruby/purple-colored offering exhibits aromas of animal fur, licorice, blackberries, and earth. Rich and full-bodied, although more monolithic than many of its peers, this excellent 1997 vintage port falls short of being exceptional. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2020.
