Aptly named, the 2012 Syrah The Beautiful is 97% Syrah and 3% co-fermented Viognier that was fermented with 100% whole cluster and aged mostly in neutral larger barrels. Getting a few expletives in the notes, it offers gorgeous aromas and flavors of kirsch liqueur, red licorice, crushed flowers and crushed rock-like minerality to go with a full-bodied, seamless and textured profile on the palate that's hard to resist. Give it a handful of years once released, and enjoy it over the following decade.
