There are fully 250 barrels of the 2018 Meursault Village (Maison Louis Jadot), making it one of the maison's most important cuvées this year. Revealing aromas of pear, peaches, clear honey and toasted almonds, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and round, framed by a deft patina of oak.

The 2018 Meursault Villages comes from several different parcels from around the appellation, including the Porusot that was previously bottled separately. It has an attractive nose of beeswax and honeysuckle aromas, plus a touch of buttered toast in the background. The palate is well balanced with nicely judged acidity and plenty of finely-tuned tropical fruit laced with elderflower, though I would have liked more mineralité to show through on the finish. A decent, commercially-driven Meursault.
