Chateau St. Jean Cinq Cépages 2013
|Region||California, Sonoma County|
|Brand||Chateau St. Jean|
Dense ruby/purple with a restrained but promising bouquet of cassis,tobacco leaf,subtle oak,this full-bodied wine is very youthful,dense,and extremely promising. Always one the winery's classics this should be at its best between 2018 and 2035.
A little ragged around the edges, with well-centered dark berry, fresh earth, dried herb and cedary oak notes, this Bordeaux-inspired effort ends with firming tannins and anise notes. This will be best served by short-term cellaring. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Best from 2020 through 2030. 3,138 cases made.
