Marie Duffau Bas Armagnac Napoléon 6 year old
|Region||France, Armagnac, Bas-Armagnac|
Minimum of 6 years by law, Duffau Napoléon is aged a minimum of 10 years. Flavors of cocoa, orange rind, cake batter and vanilla. Soft tannins on the finish and a touch of rancio.
Rather dark in color for a six-year-old, Marie Duffau Napoléon is almost nut brown. Soft, warm orange aromas and sweet, round flavors of milk chocolate, sponge cake, and a spicy, pithy finish. Solid and affordable for such a young Armagnac. (Bas-Armagnac, 40% abv.)
This offers a mix of fresh and dried-fruit aromas and a slightly resiny nose. Its juicy apple cider, vanilla and toasty baking-spice notes suggest this would be a fine choice for mixing- into a mulled brandy punch for winter parties. Hard wax cap.
