This is an expensive offering blended to be the same stylistically from year to year. The fruit this vintage comes 33% from San Benito County, 33% from Monterrey County and 34% from Sonoma County. Pale to medium ruby, the 2017 Reata Pinot Noir Three County opens with cinnamon stick, potpourri, roses, fresh cranberries, citrus peel and warm red berries with nuances of amaro and dusty earth. The palate is light to medium-bodied and rounded with spicy fruits framed by gentle, grainy tannins and juicy freshness, finishing long.

Hints of red licorice and cedar accent the snappy red fruit and spice flavors. Notes of dried meat show on the finely textured finish. Drink now through 2021. 3,500 cases made.

Attractive and medium bodied, this smooth-textured wine offers pleasant and light red-cherry and black-plum flavors and a touch of spicy complexity. It feels soft on the palate and easy to drink.
