Mauro Molino Barolo 2018
The 2018 Barolo is a lean and lively expression with wild cherry, licorice, rose water and crushed stone. Made from a blend of fruit from Annunziata and Berri in La Morra and Perno in Monforte d'Alba, this is a classic, lean-bodied Nebbiolo with an elegant close.
Featuring currant and strawberry flavors, this red is introduced by mint and eucalyptus aromas. Light and wiry, with fine intensity and flashes of licorice, tar and spice as this plays out on the finish. Best from 2024 through 2038. 2,500 cases made, 750 cases imported.
The 2018 Barolo is a very pretty wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. All the elements are nicely balanced in a Barolo that is just a bit quiet in its expression. Crushed flowers, sweet dried cherry, mint and rose petal linger.
